For a quick look – our mediation services in a short image video

Thanks to the very professional support offered by Dr Born and Dr Kühn we were able to develop, together with all shareholders, a great family charter for the future of our company. We really felt understood by the two mediators and liked their pleasant way of dealing with things.

Mediation, supervision & conflict management

Mediation is an integral part of alternative conflict resolution methods, which are also known by the name of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

These methods are leading to a marked change in our legal system and thus also the legal market. Mediation is an alternative, i.e. out-of-court method for resolving disputes that usually saves both time and money. Ideally, the disputing parties work towards a solution by themselves with the assistance of a mediator acting as a neutral participant. This leads to more individualised results, which in turn ensures that the peace that is achieved will last longer.

RITTERSHAUS has long played a key role in the changes the legal consultancy market is undergoing. Beyond providing the classic legal and notary services, a large number of our professionals already work as trained mediators today. Should the parties require more legal assistance, we can implement the collaborative law method, which involves both parties retaining separate lawyers trained in mediation, who work towards a solution as a team. One reason why this method is so successful is because CL lawyers may not represent the parties in the subsequent court proceedings. We have added mediation-based services to our consultancy portfolio in the areas of conflict prevention and conflict management. RITTERSHAUS also offers special business mediation services in the B2B sector.

In addition, RITTERSHAUS offers mediation-analogue supervision for companies, law firms, mediators and judges presiding over mediation proceedings (“Güterichter”). Supervision is a consultancy procedure involving processes and questions arising at work, the problems of the people involved and their relationships. It is used in equal measure to empower people as well as create ties, to enable new perspectives and the personal and professional development of individuals, groups, teams, and organisations. We focus on case supervision and team supervision.

Main Areas of Expertise

  • Development of family constitutions, family charters and family strategies
  • Mediation in employment law, e.g. for conflicts in management or between executives, for disputes between employers and employees, the works council or a labour union
  • Introduction of conflict management systems and in-house mediation

  • Mediation in conflicts between manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, service providers and customers, but also in disputes between companies and public authorities
