It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our long-standing partner Prof. Dr. Christof Hettich, who was suddenly and far too early taken from us at the age of only 66.
Christof Hettich was part of our firm throughout his entire professional life and shaped it like no other. He was a member of our Management Board until his death. He was not only an outstanding lawyer, but also an entrepreneur in the best sense of the word. For decades, he guided clients into the future in an impressive manner, not only through his high level of legal expertise, but above all by taking on responsibility as a supervisory and advisory board member, as well as a managing director and board member.
Despite all his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements, RITTERSHAUS was always his professional home. With his extraordinary strategic foresight, his courage, his decisive sense of freedom and personal responsibility, and his strong leadership qualities, he made a decisive contribution to the current size and economic success of our law firm.
His warm manner, his consistently people-oriented attitude and his openness deeply impressed everyone who met him. He had a clear and unmistakable vision of what defines our cooperation within the firm, characterised by respect, trust and a sense of responsibility. We will continue to be guided by these values in the future.
His death leaves a huge void. We have lost a leading figure, a partner and a friend.
