Dr Michael Wenzel advises companies and government agencies on all questions involving German and European public law. The main focus of his work is public commercial law, in particular concerning matters involving procurement and environmental law.
In the field of environmental law, his focus is on waste management and chemical law. Dr Wenzel assists his clients with comprehensive advice in particular on the EU Chemical Regulation REACH and has several times successfully represented clients in opposition proceedings before the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
When it comes to procurement law, Dr Wenzel helps principals to efficiently implement their procurement ideas and make them legally watertight. He assists them with the conception of tenders and the drawing up of suitable tendering documents; he lends support during the tendering process and challenges applications for review before the public procurement complaint boards or the courts. Dr Wenzel helps bidders review and submit complaints concerning potential breaches of procurement law as well as assert their rights before the procurement law review bodies. Together with his colleague Dr Christoph Rung he regularly organises mini-webinars (“coffee and procurement law“) on zoom covering current issues involving procurement law. If you are interested, we inform you in good time on any upcoming webinars.
