Employment Law

We give advice on both individual and collective employment law. The latter includes areas such as industrial relations in the work place, collective agreements and industrial disputes in relation to which we see ourselves not only as legal advisors but also someone who talks to companies about handling conflicts and working out long-term, economically viable solutions. In the area of individual employment law, we offer comprehensive advice starting with the wording of employment contracts through to protection against unfair dismissal as well the creation and implementation of wide-ranging personnel measures in compliance with the law. Conflicts between employers and employee representatives (works councils in Germany) as well as those between staff and their superiors or between individual executives cannot always be settled through the use of employment law regulations alone. It is faster, more sustainable and generally more cost-effective to use mediation or a mediation-based approach to enable the parties involved in a conflict to work out solutions of their own and take full responsibility for them. In particular as far as the collective employment law is concerned, this method offers considerable advantages compared with the conventional representation of interests set out in the German Works Council Constitution or Collective Bargaining Act.
