We create security. The German Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz/LkSG) is meant to improve the international human rights situation. It stipulates the conditions that certain companies must fulfil to responsibly manage their supply chains. The resulting obligations are already posing enormous challenges for many companies. One particular novelty is that the law demands a risk analysis relating to contractual parties.
Individual risk profiles require individual solutions
We help entrepreneurs and companies prepare for the new statutory requirements, create the necessary in-house processes, and comply with the provisions set out in the Act. Since the Act stipulates a list of phased measures in line with the individual risk profile of the respective company, we offer to analyse the risk profile of your company with regard to its exposure under the new Act. During that process we use our own lists of questions that have been developed for different scenarios. We also carry out the training sessions prescribed by the Act either in-house or on the premises of your direct suppliers. We adapt the training content to the individual risk profile, the industry, and the requirements of the respective company.
Our specialists have been looking at the Act and its interpretation since the start of the legislative process; they have been publishing articles and presenting regular lectures covering the topic. They have been editing or authoring expert commentaries on the subject matter (Berg/Kramme: Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz published by C.H. Beck).
