It takes more than briefs to create a strong community

“We can also have a beer together and talk about other things than the law,” says Matthias Uhl describing the team spirit and the friendly dealings between all members of the staff and across all hierarchy levels of the law firm. Proof of this spirit of togetherness is the many joint activities that employees engage in during their free time.

Räteski – After its introduction by Gerald Rittershaus, the founder of the firm in the 1970s, we formed a ski troop spending a long weekend on the slopes every year. The last time was in March 2023 in Kleinwalsertal, a stone’s throw from Lake Constance, where 39 Rittershaus employees practised their parallel turns. The plans for next year will commence shortly.

Law firm band – It is not a great career on stage but the shared experience that drives “Knightshouse”. Now we have even found a room to practise in at the Mannheim office. An alternating group of musicians plays cover versions of well-known rock classics as well as songs composed by its very own lead guitarist Anno Haberer. Work on the first joint album is still ongoing but no one can doubt the harmony and the ambition.

Sport – second take: Every year RITTERSHAUS sends its best team to take part in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge. In 2019, 5 women and 8 man from our firm joined the biggest company running event in Germany; they gave their all and had a lot of fun. The acoustic support by our fans was, once again, top notch. Many thanks for this great team effort and well done for sporting the new corporate outfits.

Sport – third take: This time it was all about great vibes and a good purpose. We are regular participants of the charity regatta “Rowing against Cancer in Heidelberg“. In 2019, our mixed team gathered at the start in a four-person boat. And they did rather well: The boat of Kristina Lindenfeld, Evelina Levenson, Adrian Bugger and Anno Haberer came fifth in a race that attracted 21 teams. Congratulations to our mixed crew!
