Our demanding clients expect a great deal of flexibility from their lawyers. There will be times when briefs involve very labour-intensive periods. This is why, to us, personal space and time with the family are very important. They alone help us achieve individual balance and revive our interest in and continued enjoyment of our work as lawyers. Taking this into account, we have come up with various options.
Flexible career planning at every stage of your life
At all levels we offer all our lawyers the opportunity to reduce their working hours for family-related or other personal reasons or to make use of services to help them meet their family-related duties. Reducing one’s working hours does, on principle, not affect people’s career prospect even if they are partners. People may reactivate their career and return to full-time employment at any time.
4-day week: more freedom, more flexibility
Is it really possible for a lawyer at a corporate law firm to work part-time? There is no doubt that there are jobs that lend themselves more to part-time work than that of a corporate lawyer. Apart from professional competence, our clients expect their advisers to be flexible when it comes to time management and be available whenever needed. Positive experiences have, however, shown us that, as long as things are organised well and if there is a willingness to accept a degree of autonomy, people can master these challenges together with the firm.
This is why we have introduced the “RITTERSHAUS 4-DAY WEEK”. You reduce the hours you work as a lawyer and agree framework conditions with us that we can all rely on. At our firm, a four-day week is as realistic as spreading your work over five days.
